As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Sports Dietitian and a Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN), I'm passionate about helping you reach your nutrition goals, while also maintaining your sanity and not feeling restricted. I pride myself on my friendly, non-judgemental, holistic and most important, realistic, approach to nutrition. In my life before becoming a dietitian, I worked in the fitness industry as a trainer; it was during this time I discovered many of my clients had a greater need for quality nutrition advice than they had for assistance with exercise.
I also happen to be married to a wonderful human who is also a strength & conditioning expert and a leading educator in the health and fitness industry. So, it's safe to say that I'm well grounded in my understanding of training principles and methodologies. I absolutely walk my talk - lifting weights is my personal favourite way to train.
My husband and I live in Brisbane with our 3 spoiled Tonkinese cats, aka my "office assistants". In my downtime, I'm my family's go-to baker, I take great joy in baking and decorating fun cakes as a creative outlet.
My Approach
My objective is to help you reach your nutrition goals in a sustainable way, whilst developing and maintaining your friendship with food. Using an evidence-based, client-led approach, I work with YOU to focus on your preferences and needs to enable you to implement sustainable and realistic changes for long-term success.
SpecialtyAreas
GUT HEALTH
Learn how your gut and microbiome (the community of bugs that live in your gut) affect your overall health. I can help you work through detecting and managing food intolerances, managing & finding root causes of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and SIBO, as well as guide your nutrition to manage and ease symptoms of other GI disorders.
SPORTS & PERFORMANCE NUTRITION
If you're an active person I can help you learn how to make food choices that optimise your training, performance and importantly, your recovery. I take a holistic approach to helping learn about the components of food, how they relate to your body's energy systems, hydration and other factors that can affect your performance. Whether you're a recreational or competitive athlete, I would love to work with you.
FOOD & BODY RELATIONSHIPS
Many of us forget that we have a relationship with the food we eat. Food is more than just fuel to be consumed. Food has emotional and cultural significance, and we can't forget that. I can help you improve your relationship with food, and your body through demystifying the science of food and nutrition and debunking misinformation.
